Greetings Planners,
Here are a few pitfalls to avoid when writing an effective 18-hour Strategic business plan.
· Leaving out values and vision: These can be powerful tools to inspire and motivate everyone involved with your company.
· Misreading your customers: Do the research necessary to understand what your customers want or need.
· Underestimating your competition: To stay ahead of the pack, you have to keep abreast of what your competitors are doing.
· Ignoring your own strengths: Effective business plans leverage the key strengths of the company and its staff.
· Overlooking your weaknesses: Failing to recognize and seek assistance for areas in your business that can derail your success.
· Failing to organize around the plan: To be useful, a business plan must act as a blueprint for how to manage and operate your company and be referenced often!

Hello, fellow entrepreneurs,
I have recently met a business woman who is helping me visualize my business better. By this, I mean that I am becoming more specific about exactly WHAT I want to accomplish, FOR WHOM, WHY, and HOW. We all have heard how important it is to have a positive frame of mind. However, my thoughts can keep chatting inside my head in a negative way without me even noticing them. Catching these thoughts and reframing them into beneficial ideas is an ongoing and mindful work that is definitively worth doing.
Here are some motivational books that this woman recommended: The Science of Getting Rich (Wallace Wattles), The Magic of Thinking Big (David Schwartz)and the classic Think and Grow Rich (Napoleon Hill).
I hope this helps,
Victoria Jaen
Thanks for the post. What we feed ourselves is important on the inside and out. Education is fantastic and books are great but without action nothing happens. We must take control of our destiny and not make excuses.
Abundance exists where action persists.
